While I respect photographer/author/publisher David PZ Wong’s choices for the cover images of his two-volume photography collection Beauty in Plain Sight, he had so many great photographs to choose from.

Since I knew traditional bookstore trade was likely not his most important sales channel, in this early concept I took the high key image and pushed it lighter with white text. And the irony of the text, especially “in” not being in plain sight.

Ah, so elegant. Perhaps someday I can do a white on white cover.
