Book Design Introduces the Quantum Age

Since typical “digital” metaphors didn’t make sense in the realm of quantum computing, designer Paul Nylander dug deep to create a look that was familiar and approachable, yet hinted at the changes to come.

Two copies of “Quantumn Computing 101” sit on a lab table, various electronic equipment in the background.

Presented as a book for “business leaders at cocktail parties,” technology consultant Anna Murray’s Quantum Computing 101 book is a slim 150 pages that packs a punch.

My challenge here was to create a design that visually bridged the gap between familiar digital visuals and the new field of quantum computing concepts, while also guiding readers through the book’s detailed structure and case studies.
